In 1992 Koenie, Sven Van Hees and Sebastien Kalonji founded the legendary Wonka Beats, a sub-label of USA Import Music from Antwerp. The label was known for its distinctive tribal house sound and was sought after by many DJs in the early ’90s.
In 1995 Koenie managed his own record label Lady Bird Records and released singles with productions of Sven Van Hees, Remy, Joe T. Vanelli, Chris Simmonds , Armand Van Helden and several other Belgian house music producers.
In 1997 he started the Wally’s Groove World record label, borrowing the name of his record shop. It featured early productions of the Belgian group Arsenal (their first album) and house music producers like Swirl People, Marino Berardi, Moodlex, Mayaku, Brandy, Luke Solomon, funk collective Wizards Of Ooze and many more. In the same period Koenie also managed a few smaller labels as divisions of Wally’s Groove World:
Wha? Roots Recordings jazz, Latin, downbeat and broken beat productions
Break It Or Leave It strictly breakbeat productions
MB Recordings (Metronomic Beatz) tech-house productions of Marino Berardi
Forced Recordings mainstream house, disco- and tech-house styles
